Le Champ du Feu
a unique site steeped in history
The history of Le Champ du Feu is linked to that of skiing: a mountain resort located in the Bas-Rhin region, the site was one of the pioneers in the development of European skiing and innovation in this leisure activity.
A training centre for many instructors since 1963, the resort discovered snowmaking and floodlit slopes two years later. And it is here, just an hour from Strasbourg, that the people of the Bas-Rhin come from childhood to put on their skis and discover the joys of sliding sports (downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, sledging) in winter and outdoor sports and hiking in summer.
Over the years, the infrastructure has been developed to accommodate skiers: Ski Club Vosgien 96, a 20-metre tower in honour of the 25th anniversary of the creation of the Club Vosgien.
Henri Morel, who was attached to this unique site and what it represented for the region's inhabitants, took over the management of the ski area, renovated it and turned it into a must-see destination for young and old alike, an ideal place to get together and escape to the heart of nature.
